The year 2012 marked a challenging period for our family when our youngest son faced severe vaccine injury. It was a time of turmoil and uncertainty, but through unwavering support and dedication, we were able to navigate through the difficulties and witness our son's remarkable recovery. You can read our story here. It was during these trying times that our family's bond grew stronger as we rallied together to overcome the unforeseen obstacles that life had presented.

As our son regained his health, we found ourselves looking to the future and seeking out new opportunities. This sparked the beginning of our journey into our natural rearing Golden Retriever breeding program.  Our commitment to this endeavor not only reflected our personal values but also inspired us to seek out the best possible products for our pets. In particular, we were in search of raw, healthy treats for training purposes, but the market fell short of meeting our needs.

This unmet need ignited a passion within us to create something of our own. We began crafting products that catered to our specific requirements, drawing from our own experiences and values. The positive reception from our own community was overwhelming, as friends and family alike expressed interest in obtaining these items for their own households. Encouraged by this support, we felt compelled to share our offerings with a broader audience, and that's how the idea of High Desert Mercantile was born.

The store is a testament to our perseverance and determination, drawing from the very products and experiences that have played an integral role in our lives. Our commitment to offering these items reflects our desire to enhance the lives of others, just as they have enriched our own.
